Knitting Workshops and Knitting Classes

     Ideas For KNitting Fair Isle   

In 2017 I will be running a series of one day workshops at my home in East Sussex- see details below. I am also happy to offer private lessons to teach the basics,  develop your knitting skills or to help you develop your own designs.


WI Event at Alexandra Palace in March, The spring Knitting and Stitching show at Olympia in March,The Knitting and Stitching Show, Edinburgh, in April, The Autumn Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace in October (where I will also have a stand) and the Knitting and Stitching show in Harrogate in November.



 This workshop is in my home  in East Sussex and offers a fun, relaxing and interactive approach to learning or developing your knitting skills.

You will:

Learn how to chose" colours” and “designs” to give your product individuality

How to change wool colours across a row

Workout the placement of patterns

How to read charts and patterns

Gain confidence and skills to develop your own ideas

You will have an enjoyable day meeting other knitters and come away with your own unique pattern and project on the go!

Saturday 7th January/ Tuesday 24th January or Saturday 18th February

TIME: Length of workshop: 10.30 - 4.00 ( please bring food to share for lunch)

Tea/coffee and cake will be provided

COST: £46.00 including knitknacks yarn for a project (100%) wool from a selection of colours. Other yarns will be available to purchase on the day.

 Participants will need to bring a pair of 5mm needles

 I can cater for up to 6 participants ( 1 place remaining for 7th January)

Knitting Socks Workshop

Tuesday 17th and Tuesday 24th November 2 -4.30pm

Venue: Blackberry Cottage, Pell Green Wadhurst, East Sussex TN5 6EF

Cost £44.00  for both sessions and includes a pattern and merino hand painted sock yarn for a pair of socks.

This workshop is limited to 6 people - 

To take part in this workshop you will need to knit and purl with confidence. 

This is a two part workshop where you will learn how to knit a simple pair of socks. 

Skills learnt: Knitting on 4 needles in the round

  • knitting  a heel flap
  • turning a heel
  • Completing the toe

Materials required for the workshop

A set of 2.75mm double pointed needles 10 or 15 mm long- bamboo needles are easiest to work with.

2 additional  2.75mm double pointed needles 15mm long, preferably in a contrasting colour ( metal ones are fine). 

Full cost of the workshop will need to be paid in advance either by bacs,credit card or a cheque.
